Aerospace and Automotive Engineering Specialist
About the opportunity
micro1 is looking for Aerospace and Automotive Engineering Specialists with experience in mechanical design to contribute to an AI training project.
In this role, you'll apply your engineering expertise to complete realistic CAD design tasks, develop 3D models, and document your technical workflows step by step. Your work will help improve how AI systems understand engineering design processes, CAD modeling techniques, and technical decision-making.
We're looking for professionals who can combine practical CAD knowledge with clear technical explanations and strong attention to detail.
What you'll do
- Create and modify 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and components.
- Develop part designs, assemblies, surface models, and engineering drawings based on technical requirements.
- Demonstrate realistic engineering design workflows, including modeling techniques and design decisions.
- Document your design process step by step, clearly explaining the tools, methods, and reasoning behind your work.
- Review technical design tasks and provide detailed feedback to support AI model improvement.
- Evaluate CAD models and engineering outputs for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with technical specifications.
- Identify design issues and explain potential improvements using sound engineering judgment.
Preferred qualifications
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles, parametric modeling, assemblies, and surface modeling.
- Professional hands-on experience using CATIA for mechanical design and 3D CAD modeling is nice to have.
- Ability to clearly explain technical workflows, design decisions, and engineering concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and written communication skills.
- Background in Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working on professional CAD design or engineering projects.
Engagement details
- Contract type: Independent contractor
- Location: Fully remote, open to candidates worldwide
- Schedule: Part-time with flexible working hours
Application process
After submitting your application, you'll complete an AI interview focused on your relevant engineering experience, knowledge, and technical skills.
