Explain a break in your work history
A layoff after a program was cancelled, time with family, study, a move or a planned break: enter the dates and what you did in them. It gives you a resume line, a sentence for a cover letter and a spoken answer for the interview, brief and honest.
Fill in the form and your answer appears here, ready to copy and edit.
How it works
- Choose your work, enter the dates and the main reason.
- Add what you did in that time and the state of any clearance or certification.
- Use each of the three pieces where it belongs, as short as it is.

Common questions
Do space companies mind a gap after a layoff?
Programs end and companies fold in this industry, and hiring managers know it. A plain line with the dates and the reason, plus what you kept doing, is usually enough.
My clearance went inactive. What do I say?
State its level and when it went inactive; whether it can be reinstated is for the next employer and the government to decide. The tool never calls a clearance active unless you wrote that.
Do I pay or sign up?
Neither. Your text goes to an AI model once to produce the answer, and we do not keep it.
