Read a space job posting in plain words

Paste a posting from a launch, satellite or defense space employer. It sets out what the job is, the pay and location it states, the clearance or US person rule it sets, what is required and what is only nice to have, and what to ask before you apply.

Free, no sign-up. What you type is used for your answer and not stored.

Fill in the form and your answer appears here, ready to copy and edit.

How it works

  1. Paste the whole posting, top to bottom.
  2. See what it states and what it leaves unsaid: pay, schedule, travel, clearance, citizenship.
  3. Take the suggested questions to the recruiter before you spend an evening on the application.

Common questions

What does "US person" or "ITAR" in a posting mean for me?

Work under US export rules (ITAR or EAR) can be limited to US citizens, permanent residents and some protected individuals. The decoder quotes what the posting says about it; our ITAR and clearance guide explains the terms.

Does it estimate pay a posting leaves out?

No. It only repeats pay the posting prints. For what similar roles pay, see space industry pay, measured from open postings.

Do I pay or sign up?

Neither. Your text goes to an AI model once to produce the answer, and we do not keep it.
