MBSE Process Engineer
About the job
## Job description Team & Reporting Line: Mission & Space Segment Our Mission At constellr, we use thermal intelligence from space to understand what is happening on Earth - where, when and at scale.
Our satellite constellation delivers high-resolution land surface temperature data, giving governments, defence organisations, commercial operators and global institutions the intelligence they need to monitor change, assess risk and make better-informed decisions.
From national security and critical infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience, constellr turns temperature into actionable intelligence for a changing world. ## Your Role We are seeking a highly motivated Space Systems Engineer with strong background in MBSE and development of engineering processes to support the transition to MBSE across our organization and implementation of SysML models for the constellation architecture .
The candidate will work closely with satellite development team systems engineers, particularly in the context of developing satellite payloads for various missions. ## Key responsibilities - Support the transition of development processes to model-based approaches across the organization. - Support the definition and establishment of the PLM processes and model configuration and reuse across various missions. - Support the definition of engineering processes for other systems engineering activities (e.g. requirements management, manufacturing and AIT process). - Participate in development of SysML models for various systems. - Support the automatic generation of documents from models. - Identify training needs and coordinate with external providers to upskill engineering teams. - Develop internal guidelines and best practices for MBSE usage. - Interface with Toolchain suppliers. - Interface with Infrastructure team for deployment of tools and access management ## Required - Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related field - Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and development lifecycle. - At least 2 years of experience in space industry, ideally in development of Earth Observation payloads - Hands-on experience with SysML (preferably SysML v2), MBSE tools and modelling methodologies and frameworks - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives. - Good Programming skills in python - Experience with Git and Github workflows - Ability to think abstractly and conceptualize - Ability to travel for business purposes as needed ## Nice to Have : - Familiarity with requirements management tools - Familiarity with or experience in architecture modelling for constellations, system of systems, or product lines. - Familiarity with GraphQL , build tools (make, pydoit), and Docker ## Why join constellr? - High-Impact National Security Mission: Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world’s first commercial thermal infrared constellation, delivering sovereign-grade "behavioural" intelligence from space to close critical blind spots for defence, intelligence, and maritime surveillance agencies. - Fast-Paced "New Space" Innovation: Work at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving defence sector.
By leveraging modern, agile New Space methodologies, you will help design, build, and deploy dual-use thermal payloads into operational orbit at a speed and scale that traditional aerospace models simply cannot match. - Broad Interdisciplinary Exposure: Accelerate your professional growth by collaborating daily with a diverse, international cohort of astrophysicists, software developers, and defence-system engineers. - Inclusive & Scientific Culture: Join a high-trust team deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and scientific excellence, where academic curiosity is paired with high autonomy and a flat hierarchy. - Financial Upside & Well-being: Benefit from a Virtual Share Option Plan (VSOP) for permanent employees, giving you a true stake in the company's growth, alongside highly flexible hybrid working models.
