About the job

## (Senior) Engineer, System Integration & Test, meoSphere The job responsibilities outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may evolve over time and be reviewed according to business needs. PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION meoSphere is SES’s next-generation Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite constellation, designed to deliver secure connectivity services to government agencies, enterprises, and commercial customers.

It will also provide high-speed broadband internet to eliminate global connectivity dead zones.

To accelerate development timelines, reduce costs, and ensure quality, SES is internalizing a critical segment of the satellite supply chain: the final integration of partner satellite platforms with SES’s software-defined payloads, all within a cutting-edge manufacturing and test facility. ## ROLE DESCRIPTION The System Integration & Test (SI&T) team is responsible for the integration, verification, validation, and end-to-end testing of the meoSphere System of Systems, encompassing spacecraft, ground systems, terminals, networks, software, and operational processes.

The team ensures that system elements interoperate as intended and that end-to-end capabilities meet program and operational requirements. As a Senior Engineer, you will lead and deliver system integration, verification, validation, and test activities across one or more of the following areas: Mission Test & Pathfinder Integration, Systems Verification & Validation, or Test Infrastructure & Automation.

Working across multiple engineering domains, you will develop test solutions, define and execute test activities, investigate technical issues, verify system requirements, and support major program milestones from system integration through operational readiness.

The role requires strong technical judgment, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to independently deliver complex technical work in a fast-paced engineering environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS - Plan, coordinate, and execute system integration, verification, validation, and test activities across complex hardware, software, network, and operational environments. - Own assigned SI&T work packages, delivering technical outputs aligned with program milestones, test campaigns, and readiness gates. - Develop, review, and maintain test procedures, verification methods, configurations, success criteria, and evidence required to demonstrate requirement compliance. - Define and execute interface, system, mission, and end-to-end test activities supporting verification and validation of mission and service outcomes. - Collaborate with spacecraft, ground systems, software, mission operations, networking, laboratory, supplier, and partner teams to coordinate integration and test activities. - Investigate anomalies identified during integration and testing, perform technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and drive effective resolution and corrective actions. - Ensure complete traceability between requirements, verification methods, test procedures, execution records, anomalies, and verification evidence. - Contribute to system readiness reviews, verification reviews, test readiness reviews, operational readiness reviews, and related technical assessments. - Support the development, maintenance, and configuration control of test environments, test infrastructure, and automation capabilities, as applicable to the assigned area. - Produce high-quality technical documentation, test reports, verification records, anomaly reports, and engineering recommendations to support technical decision-making. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of SI&T processes, methodologies, tools, and engineering best practices. - Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within project teams and support less experienced engineers where appropriate. ## Key Year 1 Deliverables Within the first year, you will establish yourself as an independent contributor within the SI&T organization and successfully deliver assigned technical outputs supporting program milestones and readiness objectives.

Expected deliverables include: - Delivery of assigned integration, verification, validation, mission testing, or test automation work packages in support of program execution. - Approved and controlled test procedures, verification procedures, configurations, and supporting documentation for assigned activities. - Successful execution and documentation of planned test campaigns, including collection of traceable verification evidence. - Delivery of technical analysis, test reports, verification records, and readiness review inputs supporting program decision-making. - Timely investigation, documentation, and disposition of anomalies identified during integration and test activities. - Demonstrated ownership of assigned technical scope and achievement of agreed milestone commitments. - Implementation or enhancement of test environment, automation, infrastructure, or verification capabilities where applicable to the assigned specialty. - Establishment of effective working relationships across engineering teams and recognition as a trusted SI&T contributor for assigned program activities. ## Qualifications Background and Experience - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including demonstrated ownership and delivery of system integration, verification, validation, mission test, test infrastructure, or test automation activities within complex multidisciplinary engineering environments. - Proven ability to independently own technical work packages and deliver results with limited supervision. - Experience in at least one of the following areas: - Mission Test & Pathfinder Integration - Systems Verification & Validation - Test Infrastructure & Automation - Strong understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, verification and validation processes, and technical problem-solving methodologies. - Experience developing and executing test procedures, verification activities, or automated test capabilities. - Knowledge of configuration management, requirements traceability, defect management, and engineering documentation practices. - Ability to analyze technical data, identify issues, and develop practical engineering solutions. - Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

Preferred Experience - Experience within satellite, aerospace, telecommunications, defense, networking, or other complex system-of-systems environments. - Familiarity with model-based systems engineering, test automation frameworks, simulation environments, or mission test environments. - Experience supporting formal engineering reviews and readiness assessments.

Mindset & Values - Learning Mindset: Actively builds technical knowledge, seeks feedback, and learns from hands-on experience and experienced engineers. - Ownership: Takes responsibility for assigned work, follows through on commitments, and drives issues to resolution. - Rigor: Demonstrates attention to detail, maintains clear documentation, and values evidence-based decisions. - Collaboration: Works effectively across disciplines, communicates openly, and welcomes different perspectives and feedback. - Systems Thinking: Understands that complex systems are interconnected and seeks to understand how hardware, software, operations, and networks work together. - Curiosity: Asks questions, challenges assumptions, and seeks to understand how systems behave in practice.

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS / COMMENTS - The candidate must be eligible for a “SECRET” security clearance, in accordance with the national regulations as well as EU/ESA/NATO equivalents - Willing to work 60% onsite fro
