Our Sat Connect IC business unit, a division of our Satellite Systems business is a leading provider of ASICs, software, multibeam electronically steered antennas, and complete systems for communication satellites, as well as ground and airborne terminals.

Located in Israel, the UK, Bulgaria, and the US, we are a technology leader in satellite communication. ## Role Description MDA is part of a world leading project of a cutting-edge Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. As part of this collaboration, We are creating a state-of-the-art landing station/feeder link product to connect the satellite network with the internet cloud.

We are seeking an experienced Senior BSP (Board Support Package) Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, firmware development, hardware-software integration, and system bring-up. You will play a critical role in developing and maintaining BSPs for our cutting-edge satellite communication products.

If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of satellite technology and global connectivity, this is your opportunity to shape the future of space communications. ## Key Responsibilities - BSP Development: Design, develop, and maintain Board Support Packages for ARM based Linux real-time operating systems - System Bring-Up: Lead the commissioning of new hardware platforms, ensuring all components function correctly - Hardware Integration: Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to initialise new boards and validate hardware functionality - Linux Kernel Driver Development: Develop and optimise in‑kernel device drivers and subsystems for high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, UART, DMA and RF front‑ends - Driver Development: Develop and optimise Linux kernel level device drivers for various peripherals and interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe) - Bootloader Customisation: Customise and enhance bootloaders for system initialisation ## Required Skills and Experience - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in BSP development, embedded systems engineering, and system bring-up - Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages. - Vast Experience with embedded Linux systems - Device Trees, Kernel level - Experience with bootloaders such as U-Boot. - Knowledge of hardware interfaces and protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, Ethernet). - Proficient in using debugging tools like JTAG debuggers, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with wireless systems development – digital and analogue - Knowledge of secure boot processes and security protocols. - Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
