Our mission is to simplify access to space communications by delivering reliable, scalable and secure ground segment services to customers worldwide. ## JOB OVERVIEW Leaf Space is looking for a Ground Station Systems Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure team and support the technical operations of our worldwide ground station network.

In this role, you will ensure the reliability, performance and operational readiness of our antenna infrastructure by supporting troubleshooting, maintenance, commissioning and new site deployments.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, AIT and external partners, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our global ground segment while helping deliver reliable satellite communications services to customers worldwide.

This position combines hands-on engineering, site operations and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-growing international space company. ## Ground Segment Engineering - Troubleshoot antenna and ground station issues, coordinating with service providers, on-site teams and equipment manufacturers. - Develop and execute troubleshooting and validation procedures for antenna and ground station systems. - Support maintenance planning and corrective actions to maximise ground station availability. - Participate in technical investigations and root cause analysis. - Prepare technical documentation, operational reports and engineering recommendations. ## Site Operations - Act as the technical point of contact for operational issues affecting active sites. - Coordinate maintenance activities with site hosts and infrastructure providers. - Monitor infrastructure status, availability and operational performance. - Maintain accurate documentation of site configurations and infrastructure assets. ## Deployment & Commissioning - Support new ground station deployments and commissioning activities worldwide. - Participate in site surveys and RF assessments. - Coordinate installation readiness together with Operations and AIT teams. - Support antenna dismantling and equipment recovery activities. ## Continuous Improvement - Analyse site performance data and identify improvement opportunities. - Support reliability and infrastructure hardening initiatives. - Contribute to engineering best practices and operational procedures. - Support internal projects related to network expansion and infrastructure optimisation. ## Bachelor's or Master's degree in - Telecommunications Engineering - Electronic Engineering - Aerospace Engineering - Electrical Engineering - or related discipline. ## Experience - Around 3–5 years of experience in: Ground Segment Engineering - Satellite Communications - RF Systems - Site Operations - Antenna Systems Experience within the space industry is considered an advantage. ## TECHNICAL SKILLS - Ground Station Operations - Antenna Systems - Satellite Communications - Troubleshooting - RF Fundamentals - Site Commissioning - Infrastructure Management - Technical Documentation - Root Cause Analysis - Jira - Confluence ## SOFT SKILLS - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - Excellent communication skills in an international environment. - Ownership mindset and proactive approach. - Team player with strong cross-functional collaboration skills. - Availability for domestic and international travel. ## NICE TO HAVE - RF Measurements - Site Survey Experience - Spanish language - Ground Segment architecture - Satellite Operations ## SUCCESS MEASURES - Ground station availability - Resolution time for technical issues - Successful site deployments - Quality of technical documentation - Infrastructure reliability improvements - Customer operational support ## WHAT WE OFFER - Flat and collaborative organisation. - International and multicultural environment. - Hybrid working model. - Professional development and training. - Welfare platform. - €8/day meal vouchers. - Opportunity to work on one of the world's largest commercial Ground Station networks. ## COMPENSATION & TRANSPARENCY - Reports to: Head of Global Infrastructure - Career Level: P3 – Experienced Professional - Job Location: Lomazzo (Como), Italy | Hybrid (remote considered within ±4h CET) - Salary Range: €35,000–40,000 - Benefits: Welfare platform, €8 meal vouchers, hybrid work policy, training opportunities ## EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Leaf Space is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
