This position is located in New York: L3Harris in New York ## Essential Functions - Set up, operate, and maintain 3 & 5-axis CNC machines to produce complex precision parts to exacting tolerances. - Strong understanding of CNC programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software. - Setup and operate multiple waterjet machines - Interpret engineering drawings, and CAD/CAM models to ensure proper machining strategies and dimensions. - Perform machine setup, including tool selection, fixture mounting, and program verification. - Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications. - Troubleshoot and adjust machine processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. - Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety protocols and standard operating procedures. - Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve machining processes. - Document job setups and recommend process improvements to reduce setup time and increase repeatability. - Participate in large optics moves as part of a move crew. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Own area equipment Total Productive Maintenance guidelines for manufacturing equipment and ensure calibration status is current. ## Qualifications - Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. ## Preferred Additional Skills - Familiarity with fixturing glass optical components and irregular parts. - Understanding and application of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) - Experience grinding glass/brittle materials (wheel selection, dressing, coolant strategy, minimizing damage/edge failure). - Able to write task procedures & processes under engineering guidance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York is $66,000 - $122,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
