Sample. 8,150 roles open on 29 Oct 2026 at the space employers this site reads.

A role's country is the one country its posting is open in. Coverage follows the employers this site reads, most of them American, so the table describes their hiring rather than every space employer in each country.

Pay is the board's median of distinct posted figures, as a year's pay; postings outside the US rarely state pay, so most non-US rows have none.

Sample. 7,394 roles open in the United States on 29 Oct 2026; a role naming sites in several states counts in each.

The state is the one the posting's location names ("Hawthorne, CA", "Cape Canaveral, Florida"); no state is looked up from a city name, so a location naming a city alone counts under no state.

Sample. The 30 US cities named by the most roles open on 29 Oct 2026, as each posting writes the city.

A city is counted as the posting names it: neighboring cities (Hawthorne and El Segundo, Merritt Island and Cape Canaveral) stay apart.

Figure 4

How much space work is remote, by kind of work

Can you work in the space industry remotely?

Sample. 8,150 roles open on 29 Oct 2026; 448 of them remote by their posting's own flag.

Remote is the posting's own flag. Hybrid roles count as on-site.

For space companies, investors and researchers

Buy the data behind this report

The figures above are a summary. Behind them are records we collect ourselves, every day:

  • roles tracked, each with its history

Every role on the job boards we read every hour: its pay and place, and the first and last day it was open.

  • apply clicks, counted

Which roles people actually apply to, by field, pay and kind of work. It happens on this site, so nobody else can count it.

What you can buy

  • The records

The rows behind any figure, with their history, not only the totals.

  • A regular feed

The same figures every week or month, as files.

  • A custom cut or benchmark

Your countries, languages or fields, or your own company against the market.

Hiring at a space company and need the people behind these roles? (you hire them yourself).

Investing in space companies? Hiring radar is these records role by role, every day, as files.

Method and definitions

Every open role on the space employers' public job boards this site reads, placed by the country its posting is open in and by the state and city its location text names. Every figure is computed by one database query over the window shown, the same query for the live report and for every edition. Each figure states its sample beneath it.

A role's country
The one country its posting is open in, as its location rule states.
A role's state and city
The state and city its location text names ("Hawthorne, CA"); no state is looked up from a city name. A role naming several sites counts in each.
Remote
The posting's own remote flag; hybrid roles count as on-site.

What this data cannot tell you

  • Coverage follows the employers this site reads, most of them American: the countries table describes their hiring, not every space employer in each country.
  • A state's median pay is compared only where most of its postings state pay; elsewhere the few postings that state it are no sample of the rest.
  • Cities are counted as postings name them, so neighboring cities and a region's own name ("Space Coast") stay apart.

How the job feeds are read and roles are classified: site methodology. How fresh, complete and consistent the data is, checked every day: data quality and coverage.

Editions

This report reads the live job boards every day. Each complete month is also published as an edition, frozen two days after the month ends, so a figure you cite from an edition never moves.
