About the role

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Leo Aviation Operations team, supporting the data infrastructure and analytics that power our quality management systems, procurement, supply chain, and bill of materials (BOM) operations. This role sits at the intersection of operational excellence and data engineering by building the reporting, tooling, and insights that enable Leo to scale aviation customer terminal manufacturing with full traceability, compliance, and cost visibility. You will partner closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and business development teams to transform complex operational data into actionable intelligence that drives decision-making from component sourcing through final delivery.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) Analytics: Design and build dashboards, automated reports, and data pipelines that track quality metrics across the manufacturing lifecycle - including first pass yield, defect rates, non-conformance trends, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and supplier quality performance. Ensure data supports AS9100 and aviation regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Intelligence: Develop analytics solutions that provide visibility into procurement spend, supplier lead times, purchase order status, and supply chain risk. Build models that identify cost optimization opportunities and flag supply disruptions before they impact production timelines.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Data Management: Create and maintain BI solutions that ensure BOM accuracy, version control traceability, and alignment between engineering BOMs, manufacturing BOMs, and procurement records. Build automated reconciliation tools to catch discrepancies early in the NPI process.
  • Data Pipeline & Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest data from manufacturing execution systems, ERP platforms, quality databases, and CM partner systems into a unified data warehouse. Ensure data integrity, freshness, and accessibility for downstream consumers.
  • Self-Service Reporting & Democratization: Build intuitive dashboards and self-service analytics tools that empower operations, engineering, and leadership teams to access real-time insights without relying on ad-hoc data requests. Establish standardized KPI definitions and reporting cadences.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with operations managers, supply chain leads, quality engineers, and business development to understand data needs, translate business questions into analytical frameworks, and deliver insights that inform strategic and tactical decisions.
