MITRE is a not-for-profit organization that runs federally funded research and development centers for the US government. Its space work supports the Space Force and other space programs with systems engineering, acquisition and mission analysis, much of it at its Colorado Springs and El Segundo, California sites, next to the Space Force's commands.
