Launch Integration Engineer

As a Launch Integration Engineer at Impulse, you will own spacecraft & kick-stage launch processing at various launch sites. Impulse is building an exceptional team, and this position is a growth opportunity open to high performers of any experience level above the basic qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Build, organize, & manage schedules for integrating multiple payloads onto Helios vehicles
• Manage payload requirements and work with Integration to implement & verify completion
• Plan multiple launch campaigns per year across different launch facilities and launch providers
• Execute critical system-level testing, working directly with subsystem level owners
• Provide innovative solutions to problems while operating with a high degree of autonomy
• Work and communicate effectively at a technical level with numerous teams across propulsion, avionics, structures, software, test, and manufacturing

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or other engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience integrating, designing, launching, and/or building spacecraft/launch vehicles
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required by operations and support occasional travel

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience integrating, designing, launching, and/or building spacecraft/launch vehicles
• Experience launching spacecraft on multiple different launch vehicles and rideshare missions
• Excellent written and oral communication, especially translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

Additional Information

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.

Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
