JR. SOUS CHEF

SpaceX is looking for passionate, experienced individuals looking to join our culinary team! The Jr. Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary department by overseeing kitchen inventory, focusing on food preparation setup.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and monitor inventory levels and ingredients
• Assist in establishing menu specifications
• Maintain quality by ensuring products are prepared according to guidelines
• Enforce food quality
• Ensure safety of physical kitchen and café space
• Assist with and distribute work schedules
• Oversee front of house food preparation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of sous chef or culinary management experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Corporate dining kitchen experience
• Degree in culinary arts
• High volume production and catering experience
• Proven ability to create innovative menus on a daily basis
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Possess a creative spirit and ability to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX culture

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to carry large heavy items, such as dishes in tubs or trays unassisted (up to 25 lbs.)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 8 hours a day
• Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends, as needed
• Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects

Pay Range

Level 5: $31.50

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. ITAR REQUIREMENTS
