The Role

This is an electrical systems engineering position where you will own the electrical systems engineering lifecycle for hardware programs, from requirements definition through architecture, ConOps, and verification. You will serve as the technical anchor connecting electrical design, thermal, mechanical, and cross-functional teams to ensure the system meets performance, safety, and manufacturability goals. You will drive trade studies to define system architecture, interfaces, and sizing and work closely with senior engineers on the bus systems team.

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You'll have high standards for yourself and the work you deliver, and you'll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product's performance, quality, and cost. We want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define, manage, and trace electrical system requirements across the full development lifecycle.
  • Develop electrical system architecture, interface definitions, and block diagrams.
  • Author and maintain Concept of Operations (ConOps) documents that align stakeholders across hardware and software domains.
  • Lead FMEA and other reliability and safety analyses to identify and mitigate design risks.
  • Drive verification and validation planning to confirm the design meets requirements.
  • Coordinate across hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve system-level trade-offs.
  • Support design reviews with clear technical documentation and decision rationale.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in the area of electrical hardware design
  • Experience in requirements definition, system architecture, and intergration/verification
  • Experience and working knowledge of Matlab or Python to build models and perform trade studies

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or complex hardware design across the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience defining electrical system architecture, interface definitions, and managing requirements.
  • Experience developing models and simulation tools to perform data-driven trade studies.
  • Contributed to cross-functional requirements development across hardware and software teams, translating technical constraints into actionable specifications
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, reliability analysis, and systems engineering methodologies.
  • Excellent skill at organizing data and communicating key requirements to teammates
  • Cross-organizational communication – comfortable presenting ideas and concerns clearly, in both verbal and written forms
